The center of the Turkish capital Ankara on Saturday has been shaken by a stop. At least 97 people who took part in a peace demonstration, have been killed in the bombing. More than 500 people were injured in the explosions on Saturday. A Turkish news agency reported that the police have arrested 14 suspects members of the Islamic State.
The two explosive devices were detonated before the start of anti-government peace rally outside the central station. The authorities went after reports that a suicide bomber blew up. 95 of 97 deaths were identified among the dead is a Palestinian. The identification of the suicide bomber is underway - the Turkish government accused the Islamists organization Islamic State (IS).
Foreign Minister Sebastian Kurz (ÖVP) has condemned the attack in the Turkish capital of Saturday morning: "I strongly condemn today's terrorist attack in Ankara on a peaceful demonstration in the strongest terms."
"Our thoughts are with the families and friends of the many victims," the foreign minister stressed according to a spokesman for the minister. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan spoke of a "heinous attack" in unity and peace of the country.
In Turkey, in recent months, the conflict between the government and Kurdish rebels had escalated again. There have been numerous attacks by the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) against Turkish soldiers and policemen. The Turkish army bombed again PKK positions in northern Iraq. The Islamic-conservative government accuses the Kurdish party HDP, to support the PKK.
